FRUIT 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from the Bartolucci Vineyard on Dean York Lane in St. Helena
VINEYARD Located at the base of Spring Mountain, this old, head-pruned vineyard has been farmed by the Bartolucci family for three generations. With its gravelly soil and warmer micro-climate, this vineyard is ideally suited to growing Cabernet Sauvignon.
WINEMAKING The fruit was harvested between September 24 and October 27 with an average Brix of 26.5 degrees. The grapes were pressed off the skins 9-21 days after crushing and the wine was aged for 19 months.
AGING French oak barrels (50% new wood)
Tasting Notes
A pure expression of Cabernet, with black cherry, plum and raspberry, wrapped in spicy French oak, cocoa and a hint of dried herbs. The mid-palate is broad and lush, while the finish is long, with perfectly structured tannins.
