Bill’s Apple Crisp

 

Take 5 Apples, one each of: Braeburn, Granny Smith, Cortland plus 2 Macouns, (empires work too)

 (About 2lbs. Total)

 

Peel, core, quarter, and cut into

 

1 inch slices

 

Add 1/3 Cup ~Craisins~ (dried cranberries).

 

Mix with 1/3 cup sugar, 1 Tsp. Cornstarch in 1/4- cup water, 1/2 tsp. ground ginger and 3/4

tsp. Cinnamon. Place in 8 inch pie plate, or 8" square pyrex, pressing fruit down.

 

Mix 1/3 Cup brown sugar, 1/2 cup AP flour and 1 stick frozen butter, previously cut into 1/2 inch cubes. Zap in food processor until it looks like coarse sand about 20 seconds.

 

Pour over apples to cover evenly  sprinkle a little oatmeal on top. Spray with water from

mister.

 

Bake@ 375 for 45-50 minutes, 'til top is light brown. Use sheet pan under pie plate to catch drools. Serve warm, with vanilla ice cream on top.
